Hi all! Its the 1st of April…wow, where did March go?! Well, its time for another watercolour challenge over at the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog and the theme for this month is “Stars”. I created this card for all of you stuck indoors and looking out. Don’t look at the empty streets, but at the beautiful sky, which in some countries, are clearer now than ever before…
I just received this stamp set from Crafters Companion called Peek-a-boo Cat and when I saw that the theme for this challenge was “Stars”, I knew I wanted to make a card with him looking through the window up into the sky. I watercoloured the sky with Spectrum Noir Aqua markers Prussian Blue, Hot Pink and Black. I made a little tutorial and you can see it at the bottom of this post.
To be honest, while I was making this card, the only sentiment I wanted to put on the card was “LET ME OUT!” We’ve been in lockdown in Germany for 2 weeks now. Luckily, or not, for the kids, they still have school online with virtual classes and homework to hand in, so the “I’m bored, mum” has been minimal. Unfortunately for me, I now have more cooking to do & chasing after them to make sure that they are actually studying and not cutting classes, along with my online classes I am taking and giving.
But for the moment, except for eating out, I’m not really missing not going out. I have countless online meetings for work and with friends, that I don’t feel I’m missing the social aspect of things. So in the end, I decided on “Thinking of You”, as this was more relevant to how I was really feeling. Thinking of friends who are cooped up alone at home, away from their family and friends. Don’t stay isolated! Reach out virtually through Facetime, Hangouts, Houseparty, Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp videos, Facebook, … the technology to do so is endless today!
And speaking of which, as promised, here is my process video of how I made this card. I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to hop on over to the blog to join in the fun and stop by teammies blogs to see what they made just to inspire you too.
Have a great day doing something you love, and remember… this too will pass.
Hugs,
So sweet, Gwendolyn! Love the pretty background for this fun little cat! Stay safe! 🙂
